Rancho Santa Margarita
In 1986, the Ranch family joined with the County of Orange to begin the planning of Rancho Santa Margarita as a new community designed to provide homes, recreational amenities, and employment — all in one place. Today, Rancho Santa Margarita is an urban village in an open-space setting, surrounded by 2,500 acres of untouched land. It has set the standard for how balanced communities should be built all across the nation. The City incorporated in 2000, and became the 33rd city in the County of Orange. Approximately 47,000 people live in Rancho Santa Margarita.
